Find Ideas To Earn Extra Income: What Do You Love To Do?

By John Farcikan

Everyone is searching for ideas to earn extra income. It is only natural to want a little more. The good news is that there are many ways to earn a bit of extra cash. What is the bad news? What works for your friend may not work for you. And that is ok. We all have our unique strengths and abilities. You will need to determine what your own talents are before making a commitment to part time earning. It is easy to find your strengths.

This is not as difficult an exercise as you might think. Write down a few of your personal pleasures-things that you do because you enjoy them. You may write down ten things, but they will not all be cash makers. Your own ideas to earn extra income will be quite different from everyone else's.

If you are at home in stores, look into mystery shopping. I have been mystery shopping Safeway, Starbucks, McDonald's and Chevron for five years. These little jobs are fun and easy. Just type "Mystery Shopping" into a search engine and see what comes up. Submit an application outlining your personal information, including how you want to be paid. I always use PayPal as it is free and convenient. Once accepted, you will receive all of the required information from the website. But you do not need to make an investment to get started. You are trying to find ideas to earn extra income. You are not trying to spend money. Ignore all the hype urging you to pay for certification. Do not send money for lists of mystery shopping companies. If you spend the time to do your own reading about the mystery shopping world, you can be on your first secret shop very quickly.

Some companies give a little on line quiz to see if you understand their requirements. This is a revealing way to discover more about the industry's expectations of its front line workers. The process of entering the results of your shopping experience is simple and streamlined. For anyone who is used to the rigidity of the regular workforce, mystery shopping is a little break.

Do You Like To Make Crafts?

If you make crafts that people comment on favorably, why not make enough of them to have your own table at the next swap meet? People will pay for a well made, unique craft item. The same goes for luxury food items like fudge and chocolates. This is one of the best ideas to earn extra income. Have a flyer on your flea market table. Outline your product line. Blow your own horn! If people like your creations, word of mouth will have you making items for special orders. I always make a few dollars this way around Christmas time.

Do you know a Technophobe?

If you are under twenty you must be aware that you are much more comfortable with computers than many people twice your age. But this does not mean that older people want to be left out of all the wonderful advantages offered by today's online world. Of all the ideas to earn extra income, this one may appeal to you the most. You can offer an informal tutoring service. Older people did not grow up around computers and are often intimidated by them. Put out the word that you will go and show them how to use whatever features they are nervous about using. Take your time. Help each client create his own little crib sheets to help him when you are not there. Someone may just want to learn how to open an attachment. Another person may drag out a huge box labelled, " Holiday slides-'86-1990" and ask if they can be put on the computer. Each of your customers will be different. I have made some dollars this way, and have met some great people.

I hope you will make out a list of your strengths. Then you may want to try some of these ideas to earn extra income. Most people sell themselves short. Everyone has something to contribute.
