Article Marketing Tips

By Milton Zamora

Search engine optimization (SEO) will enable all webmasters to increase their odds of large pageview counts.. But what exactly is SEO, and how is it used today? This question will be explored as well as the benefits of SEO in this article.

The layout of a web page can affect search engine rankings. Because search engines analyze a web page from top to bottom left to right, you should put your titles and descriptions near the top left. That way, search engines know exactly what your website concerns before they begin reading your content.

On page optimization requires the title, web address and content of a web page to meet SEO standards. If these elements are not optimized for SEO, then web pages will not be correctly indexed by search engines. Correctly indexed pages receive the benefits of SEO.

Importance of the key word is paramount. Because search engines used keywords to index content, you should spend a lot of time researching your chosen key word. A well chosen key word will result in more targeted traffic.

The key word is the launching point for on page optimization. Key words describe site content in a single word or phrase. For example, if your site is about rice you?re your targeted key word might be ?how to buy rice".

But is SEO hard? No. SEO is not some corporate strategy, it's an easily learned system that produces proven results. Anyone with a high school education and a desire (ability?) to read should be able to digest SEO in a week at most.

The first step to on page optimization is the keyword. A keyword is a single word or phrase which describes a site?s content. For example, a site about coffee will have the keyword ?coffee?. Each element of the page must be optimized for a targeted key word.

What makes a good targeted key word? A targeted key word should have high profitability. That means that competition should be low, the popularity should be high and your business model should be able to generate financial gain

But why do I want targeted traffic? Targeted traffic is crucial to a website because it is comprised of visitors who really want to see or purchase services from your site. That's the key to SEO marketing - you want targeted traffic only.

What does targeted traffic mean? A targeted visitor is someone who found your site while looking for your site's contents. While this may sound elementary, it's not. Most people use social networking sites - Facebook, Myspace - to get pageviews. People on social sites are not interested in your site's content - they are interested in you and are viewing your site out of courtesy.

Convinced that SEO is the key to success yet? If not, you are one tough sell. Fortunately this should get your attention - SEO is not a program or eBook, it's free and it works. For you skeptical types, keep reading and you'll see that SEO is the future of Internet marketing!
